Flemington hands Halloween to a different crowd each night, and each night uses a different part of town. Tonight, Thursday, belongs to children at Court Street Park. Friday goes to adults on Stangl Road. Saturday covers the neighborhoods off Broad and Bonnell Streets, where police close the roads so families can walk them. Each night has its own street, its own hours and its own audience. If you know which one is yours, you can plan the whole week around it.
Here is the full schedule in one place, pulled from the borough's official calendar and the Love Flemington events listings.
| Day | Event | Where | Hours | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thursday, Oct. 29 | Kids Costume Parade & Contest | Court Street Park | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Children and families |
| Friday, Oct. 30 | 5th Annual Stangl Witch Walk & Moon Market | Stangl Road | Starts 5 or 6 p.m., ends 10 p.m. | Adults |
| Saturday, Oct. 31 | Borough Trick-or-Treating | Throughout the borough | 4 to 8 p.m. | Families, door to door |

The Kids Costume Parade and Contest runs from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at Court Street Park. The borough lists a DJ and music, trick-or-treating, a costume contest judged by community members, a photo booth, and prizes and giveaways. You don't have to preregister, but the borough strongly encourages it.
The borough's write-up says "the ghosts of Flemington called for the return of the Kids Costume Parade." Borough records show a longer history than a single comeback. Council minutes from October 2020 said there would be no Halloween parade during the pandemic. Officials hoped skipping it would spread trick-or-treating out across town. The council reported a costume parade planned for Oct. 26, 2023. In October 2024, a "kids Halloween extravaganza" took place at Court Street Park, and the council thanked the Flemington Community Partnership for the parade. This year the event is listed under Love Flemington, the name the borough uses for its downtown improvement district and community partnership.
The parade puts the youngest crowd on Main Street on a weeknight. It ends at 7:30, which is early enough for a school night and early enough to get dinner afterward.
Last October, the Union Hotel at 74 Main Street was still under redevelopment. It closed in 2015. Local developer Jack Cust won borough approval in 2020 to rebuild it, and it officially reopened on Sept. 15, 2026. TAPinto Flemington/Raritan reported that a crowd of roughly 300 filled Main Street for the ribbon cutting the day before.
That makes this the first Halloween week in more than a decade with the hotel serving food. The hotel's Marriott page gives these hours and details:
The venue names don't quite match from one source to the next. TAPinto's opening story named a JP's Speakeasy and Fieldhouse Social, a sports bar, alongside the steakhouse. The hotel's own page now lists JP's Lounge. Call the hotel at 908-905-4855 before you count on a particular room.
Families heading to the parade tonight will find the steakhouse's Thursday dinner service already underway by the time the costume contest ends. On Friday, the later closing time works for adults who want dinner on Main Street before walking over to Stangl Road.
A newer storefront is a few doors down from the hotel. Ricochet Kids, a sustainable children's and toy shop, scheduled its grand opening at 44 Main Street for last Saturday, Oct. 24.
The 5th Annual Stangl Witch Walk & Moon Market is free. Its organizers describe it as "a spooky adult night out." This year's theme is the Haunted Carnival, and the whole length of Stangl Road is part of it.
Here is what's on the program:
The listing says kids are welcome but calls the evening "very much an adults' night." It also says the costume contest is only for "grown-up ghouls and witches." That's why the kids' parade gets its own night.
The two official listings disagree on the start time. The borough calendar says 5 p.m., and Love Flemington says 6 p.m. Both say it ends at 10. If you're going early for the vendors, plan on 6 so you don't stand around waiting.
Friday also has a second adult option outside town. Farm Of Horrors at Schaefer Farms runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through October and finishes on Halloween, so Friday and Saturday are its last two nights. One price covers all four attractions. The schedule page doesn't list start times.
Halloween itself spreads out. Borough trick-or-treating runs from 4 to 8 p.m. across Flemington. From 5 to 8 p.m., the Flemington Police Department closes the streets the borough calls its "busiest trick-or-treating areas" to cars:
If you live inside those closures and need to drive in or out during those hours, the borough asks you to call the police department at 908-782-3434 before 5 p.m. to make arrangements. There's an hour between the 4 p.m. start and the 5 p.m. closures. Anyone hosting guests or expecting a delivery should get cars in place before then.
The Saturday plan comes from Flemington Borough. Raritan Township's October calendar has no township Halloween event listed, so for most township households the neighborhood plan is up to them.
Two days after the Witch Walk filled Stangl Road, the Flemington Fine Artisans Show opens at Stangl Factory, 50 Stangl Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Sunday is also the last day of fall hayrides at Schaefer Farms, 1051 County Road 523. Hayrides to the pumpkin fields run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $18 by card or $15 in cash, and children under 8 ride free. The ticket covers the hayride, corn maze, hay maze, animal feeding and parking.
Whether you're picking a night for the kids or a night for yourself, I hope this schedule makes the week easier. If the Union Hotel's reopening and Main Street's new storefronts have you wondering what downtown's comeback means for homes nearby, I'm glad to talk it through.
